Thomas Bocklenberg  : Guitariolis: A Concert Etude for solo guitar : Bergmann

Thomas Bocklenberg

Bergmann : 16 pages

This is an extremely difficult piece to play because it is in constant motion throughout its 4 minutes .It is in two voices but even though there is mixture of mostly quavers and semi – quavers throughout its 90 bars, the two voices are constantly swapping the note lengths and so to all intents and purposes you are moving in semi – quavers throughout it, and then take into effect the pull offs and hammer -ons that are in every bar and you can see that this piece is no easy task.

Time signatures are numerous and there are a number of special effects that are carefully explained and listed in the preface. The harmony style is modern and the harmony work is always changing so that there is no room for relaxation and the piece is a true concert etude in every sense of the phrase

If you like your pieces challenging then this one is most certainly that, but if your technique is not advanced you will indeed struggle
