Shambhu’s seventh release offers ten songs that were composed over a weekend jam session in January 2023. He is a award-winning musician and guitarist well known for creating music that mixes a multitude of styles but veering most of all to contemporary styles such as , jazz, and New Age music, and it is immediately obvious that he is a wonderful player , and although he uses a metal strung acoustic , I have included it here simply because it could just as successfully be played on a classical .

The album opens with Lumina, which is a very calming piece full of warmth and relaxed moments  Lazy Afternoon ( nothing to do with the Ray Davies /Kinks song)is very much in the same vein although quite different in melodic content

Shades of Light  has moments where the speed picks up and there are several places where the music sounds very tricky to play, not that he makes it sound difficult, because he most certainly doesn’t.

Pathway gently flows and almost has a folk – like aura about it. This is really lovely as indeed  is the whole album.

Sunscape  has a sweet, happier feel to it and is again somewhat folk – like in its movements, but is much more Major key that a lot of the previous pieces, and another lovely work.

Inner Light is again full of inner meaning and at the same time optimism in its musical sound, whilst Winding Road has a more up – tempo rhythm, melodic and interesting, full of twists and turns.

Afternoon Rye takes us back to a very relaxing sound world and again is a beautiful piece and performance.

Love Garden is just as effortless sounding. It is beautifully melodic, and again full of moments that really relax the listener.

This album closes with the lovely Angel Blue, which ends this very different album in a beautiful way, and I can only say that I have rarely heard music such as this before. It is not musically THATdifferent in its harmonic world to other pieces you know, but the overall sound and feelings you inherit as a result of listening to it are wonderful to have, and I can definitely recommend this most beautifully produced and performed album.
