Of course Milos is now extremely famous and popular and all over the airwaves of many stations, and yet here is a 6 –track EP- sized set of recordings that, funnily enough, you won’t find listed on his website under ‘available recordings’, which I find slightly odd! It has three very famous Beatles tracks and three Latin based pieces, again all very famous in their own way.
The arrangements, I assume, are his own, but I cannot confirm that, owing to the lack of notes. The opening Blackbird has that at least in the opening bars, that same iconic sound of the repeating open G that was on the Beatles version. He adds a few details here and there but essentially it is the version of the song that you know and love. Here, There and Everywhere has a nice balladic touch with again a few details that take the track away from the version you might remember of that great ballad. George Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps is utterly different, more balladic, and at the point in the original recording where Eric Clapton’s solo takes over right up to the end, Milos then improvises a quite different solo to take the piece to its conclusion.
The three Latin pieces are much freer in harmony and style and fit exceedingly well onto the guitar, especially using the often very colourful harmonic chords that he uses.
So in summation this is a nice set of six pieces that many of his followers will enjoy hearing!
